A woman is attempting her personal best at a half marathon two years after a hit-and-run incident, which left her in hospital with serious injuries.
Gemma Hunter was training for an ultra marathon when she was hit in August 2024, she suffered a fractured and dislocated vertebra and a bleed on the brain – no one was arrested or came forward to admit responsibility.
Her husband Fraser Hunter said her willpower to keep on running “is unstoppable” after taking on various running events whilst in recovery.
Despite her injuries Hunter says she has always been “determined” when it comes to running and is excited to take part in the race at Bath on Sunday.
